The Gawk package contains programs for manipulating text files.

Approximate build time: 0.2 SBU
Required disk space: 30 MB

6.43.1. Installation of Gawk

Prepare Gawk for compilation: 

./configure --prefix=/usr --libexecdir=/usr/lib

Compile the package: 

make

To test the results, issue: 

make check

Install the package: 

make install

If desired, install the documentation: 

mkdir -v /usr/share/doc/gawk-4.1.0
cp    -v doc/{awkforai.txt,*.{eps,pdf,jpg}} /usr/share/doc/gawk-4.1.0
