The Findutils package contains programs to find files, either on-the-fly (by doing a live recursive search through directories and only showing files that match the specifications) or by searching through a database.
Findutils installs the following:
bigram, code, find, frcode, locate, updatedb and xargs

Bash: sh
Binutils: ar, as, ld, ranlib
Coreutils: basename, cat, chmod, cp, date, echo, hostname, install, mv, rm, tr
Diffutils: cmp
Grep: egrep, grep
GCC: cc1, collect2, cpp0, gcc
Make: make
Patch: patch
Sed: sed
Prepare Findutils to be compiled:
./configure --prefix=/tools |
Compile the package:
make |
This package has a test suite available which can perform a number of checks to ensure it built correctly. Should you choose to run it, the following command will do so:
make check |
And install the package:
make install |
