Introduction to GNOME Screenshot

The GNOME Screenshot is a utility used for taking screenshots of the entire screen, a window or a user-defined area of the screen, with optional beautifying border effects.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS 12.1 platform.

GTK+-3.24.41, libcanberra-0.30 (Compiled with GTK+3 support), and libhandy-1.8.3

Installation of GNOME Screenshot

First, fix building with newer versions of meson:

sed -i '/merge_file/{n;d}' data/

Install GNOME Screenshot by running the following commands:

mkdir build &&
cd    build &&

meson setup --prefix=/usr --buildtype=release .. &&

This package does not come with a test suite.

Now, as the root user:

ninja install


In order to best run GNOME Screenshot from the command line, the -i option needs to be specified.
